Sonic has been an enduring character since his first appearance back in 1991 and he has now made his way on to the Nintendo DS. On the DS Sonic is as manic as ever with several games to his name including Sonic Rush (released in 2005), a 2D platform game in the same style as his early outings and Sega Superstars Tennis, which also features Sonics old rival, Mario. Sonic Rush features exciting game play and an interesting graphical style with characters that are rendered in 3D laid over a 2D background. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is a fun sports simulation which also includes a story mode. Sonic has even appeared in his own RPG, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. The exploration sections of the game feature loops-de-loops while the fighting is standard RPG fair.
