Professor Laytons Nintendo DS.
The first Professor Layton (Professor Layton and the Curious Village) game was launched, for the Nintendo DS, in the UK on 7th November 2008 to rave reviews, and many retailers quickly sold out, initially unable to meet the demand for the game. After more copies of the games hit shelves, sales of the game soared by a massive 54%, showing how hot demand for the game had truly become. The game was awarded several Awards including Best Handheld Game, and Best Nintendo DS Game at various Award Ceremonies. The immense success of the game meant that not even a year later, Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box, was released on 25th September 2009, and within days the game had sold over 1 million copies in Western countries alone. The games were directly inspired by the Creator’s love of puzzle books, and feature many puzzles that the player must crack in order to progress through the game.
