Michael Morpurgo Books.
Michael Morpurgo is a British children’s writer, who has been writing professionally for the best part of four decades, with over eighty books, aimed at 5 to 10 year olds, to his name. Morpurgo 1979 book All Year Round, was co-written by popular British poet Ted Hughes, whilst he co-edited the 2008 book The Birthday Book, with Quentin Blake, most famously known as the illustrator of Roald Dahl novels. Morpurgo’s World War One based novel Private Peaceful (2003) was nominated for six literary awards between 2003 and 2007, four of which it won, including the Blue Peter Book of the Year Award. Alongside the hit West End musical Wicked, Morpurgo is currently spearheading an innovative new award aimed at encouraging young writers, with writers between the age of five and 25 being eligible for entry into the Wicked Young Writers Award.
