Guns N Roses.
Guns and Roses are an American rock band formed in 1985 by founding members Axl Rose and Duff McKagan. There have been many line up changes over their long career and only one original band member remains. Their first album, appetite for destruction has sold over 28 million copies worldwide and is the highest selling debut album of all time. The musical style of Guns and Roses includes such varied influences as punk rock, blues rock and heavy metal. Sweet Child O’ Mine released in 1988 for the album Appetite for Destruction, is the bands most iconic song and has been covered by artists such as Neneh Cherry and Texas. The song was written by Axl Rose and the bands guitarist Slash along with songwriter Mikey Wiseman and was about Rose’s then girlfriend, Erin Everly. Guns and Roses are known for their controversial lifestyle which has given them a negative image in the press.
